Senior Tech Artist

As Wilder Worlds Senior Tech Artist you will collaborate with our team to define, build and optimize our toolset and pipelines needed for end to end in-game art production. You should have a deep understanding of Unreal Engine and it’s technical constraints to help guide our art team, informing them with technical documentation and best industry practices. You should also have a good understanding of budgets and high level collaboration so you can work with our leadership team to make sure all areas of the project are properly resourced.

Wilder World is a photorealistic immersive 5D Metaverse powered entirely by NFTs and built on Ethereum, Unreal Engine 5 and ZERO.tech. Wilder World is a virtual world made up of various micro games where participants can play together using different Player vs Player and Play to Earn modes, the first of which being our racing game powered by our Genesis NFT collection titled Wilder Wheels. You will be able to explore the vast land of our first city titled Wiami to find rare NFTs and hang out with friends. In addition to that players can roam freely and express themselves through unique decorative digital assets and fashionable accessories that have super-like powers. These assets can be purchased through our NFT market called the Wilder World Metaverse Market where you can collect, trade and sell NFTs using our native WILD token.

Job Description:

  • Support the creative team by implementing and optimizing our 3D pipelines to meet the artists and in-engine needs of any asset.

  • Ensuring these pipelines are best in class and meet the industry standard of a AAA game.

  • Have a deep understanding of in-engine art constraints, ensuring we offer a world-class quality experience and game performance.

  • Guarantee a world-class player experience while meeting our art requirements and deadlines.

  • Be the primary point of contact for all technical art inquiries inside Wilder World.

  • Creative problem solving for any issues that arise.

  • Identify bottlenecks in our technical processes. 

  • Develop and put in motion the best pipeline documentation and workflow practices.

  • Educate the team with timely feedback, key insights and any necessary documentation or videos as it relates to technical art processes or optimization.

  • Deep knowledge in Maya, zBrush, Blender, 3ds max, Cinema 4D, Quixel Mixer, Substance Painter and any other digital content creation tools as it relates to game development.

  • Ensuring our team is properly resourced to meet development deadlines put forth by the leadership team.

  • Working with the leadership team to help strategize, plan and schedule production while leveraging your expertise in technical art pipelines.

  • The job is fully remote with collaborators across all time zones. We’re looking for someone who is motivated and can take initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with our leadership team to define best in class processes for taking art from concept to game ready assets.

  • Defining and managing the artist frameworks, ensuring that artists have a clear process and can spend the most possible time on creating art.

  • Work with all areas of our creative team to ensure things are indexed, ontrack and meet the technical requirements of the broader project.

  • Own the technical processes. Working with our artists and game designers to offer the players in Wilder World a highly optimized experience.

  • Create concise documents to build and guide internal processes that meet industry standards and help guide other teams involved in the game development process.

  • Partake in alpha testing and player testing while analyzing the player experience in order to get feedback to improve performance.

  • Be an active member of the Wilder artist team, playing a key role in building the culture of our organization and community.

Qualifications:

  • You have experience on a notable AAA game project. Ideally a FPS or MMORPG game.

  • You have at least 5+ years of experience as a Tech Artist.

  • You have experience in designing technical art solutions inside a notable company or game.

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of gaming, 3D art and all of the technical aspects of game development.

  • Structured and rational approach to the creative process.

  • Deep technical understanding of Unreal Engine and all of it’s constraints.

  • Strong and fluent communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members across the world with various cultural backgrounds.

  • Good knowledge of scheduling and team tracking software and techniques.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
