Director Product Evangelism

Who are we hiring?
Sphere Studios’ Director, Product Evangelism will play a critical front of house role in positioning Sphere as a world first destination and global technology platform. This role will design and host our VIP Tour and product demonstration, collaborate with leadership and engineering to identify demo content, and deliver key messaging around Sphere’s vision and innovations to a variety of key B2B clients, including VIPs, potential business partners, and top creative talent. The Director, Product Evangelism will grow and manage a small team to ensure Sphere is consistently represented with polish, confidence, accuracy, and enthusiasm. This role will regularly interface with studio management, production, and creative leadership to craft a compelling tour script, accurately define the features/benefits of studio technology in partnership with technical teams, drive quarterly content updates, and report reception and feedback. The Director of Product Evangelism will collaborate with Marketing, Comms, and Partnerships to conduct media and press demos/tours. This role will also work with Creative Development, SimViz, and Interactive teams to onboard creatives and agencies leveraging our tools and documentation, support bootcamps, and inform future documentation. This position requires the utmost professionalism, attention to detail, diligence, organization, communication, writing skills, management experience, and an ability to stay calm under pressure. Sphere Studios is part of Madison Square Garden Entertainment. Our focus is transforming the live entertainment experience, through the delivery of Sphere as its associated businesses. The future of immersive experience across film, theatre, and live music are being designed for our groundbreaking venues here. As such the Director, Product Evangelism position offers the opportunity to shape key messaging/outreach strategies and be in the vanguard of a company which is defining the future of entertainment.

What will you do?

• Expertly deliver the Sphere vision and product potential to VIP guests, partners, top creative talent, investors, and candidates articulating our unique values and features as a world-first immersive destination
• Design a variety of tours targeted to various constituencies including a tour that the director conducts completely on their own.
• Continually evolve our tour script, flow, and messaging in a clear, concise, informative, and compelling manner working with strategy, product teams, and creative development on a continual basis to refine experience and tighten run of show
• Demonstrate knowledge and passion for immersive technologies and entertainment, providing key insights on B2B messaging, presentation strategies, and industry insights
• Grow and manage a small but mighty demo team to drive quality, efficiency, innovation and professionalism around the entire demo program
• Develop product marketing materials as needed to support demo/tour messaging
• Improve demo request process, talent/tour tracking, and feedback loop with leadership team about how demo content is performing
• Support the onboarding of creative teams and external agencies, facilitating introductions to our suite of software tools, and presenting benchmarks/guidelines as necessary; Create technical product documentation and education material
• Demonstrate technical interest, aptitude, and good judgement, having the ability to answer basic questions about Sphere and elegantly defer to expert support when necessary
• Prepare agenda, ROS, refreshments and logistics for each tour.
• Prepare specific material/videos/presentations for tour groups when required.
• Organize and conduct tour rehearsals, facilitate changes in the content line-up and juggle executive requests as necessary
• Write scripts, train and rehearse SMEs for their presentations when they are needed.
• Provide visitor bios and brief/debrief leadership teams on upcoming tours and events
• Create executive summaries to report on tour observations, client reactions, follow-up directives and potential areas of improvement for each tour presented
• Conduct multiple (2-3) tours a day, often back-to-back in an orderly and safe fashion, following pre-established health and safety guidelines
• Track attendees and what content (i.e. which track) was shown including relevant feedback to the proper teams
• Troubleshoot potential issues quickly and discreetly, establish proper escalation pathing to minimize disruption
• Conduct tours as part of employee new hire orientation
• Collaborate with tech teams on bugs/issues found in demos
• Collaborate with Marketing PR on media demonstrations
• Collaborate with Human Factors and document any relevant data from demos
• Ability to train new hires, handle complex scheduling and monitor overall performance


What do you need to succeed?

• 10 years of consumer electronics or Virtual Entertainment sales or PR experience (hardware or software)
• Management of direct reports
• Developer relations experience helpful
• Excellent executive level presentation skills
• Outstanding public speaking, verbal, and written communication skills
• Highly prepared and punctual
• Strong time management skills
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while managing multiple tasks
• Excellent memorization and time management skills with the ability to articulate and inject energy and enthusiasm into any presentation
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to requests and changes to the tour on short notice.
• High level of commitment and demonstrated flexibility with the availability to work evening and weekends, when necessary
• Relevant industry knowledge (Film, Technology, Immersive) or a passion to learn more about entertainment and future technologies
• Ability to work closely with various departments to create a hospitable work environment for employees and tour guests
• Experience in a tour-related or entertainment industry desired
• Proficient in Mac and Microsoft Office
