With several million players in their first game across the US and Europe, and numerous awards (including IGN.com’s Readers' Choice for Best Multiplayer Game for League of Legends), Riot Games has pioneered new ground with their debut title and is continuing to aggressively expand.

As part of that growth, Riot Games has an immediate opening for a Character Animator for our Los Angeles, CA office. If you are a motivated, talented and experienced Character Animator and want to join the team where you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact to our dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!

This person will be a veteran game developer and have an understanding of body mechanics and the classic animation principles. Additionally, they must be able to have a strong grasp of animation pipelines. The ideal candidate is both an outstanding animator and can work from high-level direction, possessing strong leadership skills, production-sensibilities, and the talent to produce and implement the highest quality work. One’s demo reel should ideally highlight at least two walk cycles and one other game-related animation.

A thorough understanding of body mechanics and the classic animation principles is a must. Demo reel should ideally highlight at least 2 walk cycles and 1 other game-related animation.

•Create animation assets with outsourcing using animation reference as well as directing other animators

•Help the team develop new features and technologies to expand our content pipeline

•Create high quality animations for a diverse cast of characters including bipeds, quadrupeds, and monsters

•Work closely with designers and artists to create animation assets that fulfill the requirements of the project’s game design and visual design

•Be able to recognize areas of opportunity and polish other animators’ work up to AAA-title-standards

•Work effectively with outsourcing and external developers to deliver great content

•Perform in a team-oriented environment and use organizational and interpersonal skills on a daily basis

•Consistently meet project deadlines in a timely manner without compromising artistic integrity
