Art Director


Job Description:

The Art Director will be responsible for supervising both conceptual and CG artists throughout the duration of the film’s production to create the “look and feel” of the film through set and environment design, strong knowledge of architecture, creature design, lighting design, industrial design, graphics and painting.


Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and visualize ideas for any type of creative project under the direction of the Production Designer
• Researches, creates and enhances artwork as it pertains to the early phases of the story process
• Clearly communicate design ideas through computer and/or traditional techniques
• Ability to implement designs utilizing two and/or three-dimensional computer software techniques or traditional tools to initiate development work
• Participates in generating and maintaining the artistic ‘look and feel’ of project in terms of character, environments, background color and texture, lighting and/or prop design
• Must be able to collaborate with Three-Dimensional Artists for concept design and two and a half - dimensional projection matte paintings
• Must be able to provide clear and concise direction, mentorship and feedback to team as it relates to project
