REALTIME WORLDS creators of the no.1 hit game CRACKDOWN, are looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join the art team on their latest, cutting edge, Triple A (as yet undisclosed) project. This role will focus predominantly on the creation of materials for a very large project but will also involve modelling and will lead to other responsibilities within the team.

Realtime Worlds are on a very secure footing with our game projects signed with top-tier partners, a recent $50m investment and an all-star board of directors whose former job titles included Founder of DMA Design (creator of such hits as the Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto series), Vice President at Nintendo of America and Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

Responsibilities

*Work for Lead Environment Artist in producing high quality, hand-painted materials for a wide variety of environment surface types that support the style of the game, exploit the best use of the technology at hand and can be used as the benchmark for all future materials created by the environment team (internal and external)
*Take on a major part of the environment creation process and apply expertise to help define and create a large and unique set of multi-layered materials that adhere to predefined guidelines.
*Become an expert at using our proprietary state-of-the-art shader technology and exploit all its features to the fullest in the creation of cutting-edge shaders.
*Provide documentation that clearly explains the process involved in creating materials and in such a way that the information therein can be easily understood and followed by a new artist joining the team and/or external outsourcer.
*Put modelling skills to use in the development of materials and in other areas of environment creation when required.
*Troubleshoot all issues that relate to the creation of materials and their successful implementation in the game.
