BLUE CASTLE GAMES (www.bluecastlegames.com) s a full-service, multi-project and multi-platform 3rd party developer located in Vancouver, Canada. The studio was formed in 2005, fulfilling the desire to start a company where creativity, experience and hard work come together to create outstanding games. We are currently a 160 plus-person studio which has more than doubled in the past year. In its short tenure, Blue Castle has already developed and shipped The BIGS (published by 2K Sports in June 2007) on PS3, 360, PS2, PSP and Wii. We are well underway on three new projects - an unannounced Action title and two Sports titles.

It's getting around - there is something amazing being built here at Blue Castle behind locked doors. We happen to have a key position open if you're an Art Director who is interested in helping establish high visual standards and providing creative direction to our artists on our unannounced Action title. This position reports to the Senior Art Director to prepare for the principal art direction role on our next title.

An Art Director at Blue Castle Games is responsible for creating the visual targets, and maintaining the look and feel of all art within the game. The Art Director maintains the visual integrity throughout the entire project, ensuring consistency and highest quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and support multiple artists, or teams of artists, on multi-platform console games.
• Establish industry-leading visual direction and production standards.
• Ensure adequate pre-production and testing of new concepts/techniques is complete prior to production of title.
• Identify problems that can be addressed visually and provide solutions.
• Support business development by overseeing the art development in new proposed projects and conveying ideas to clients, prospective clients, and studio management.
• Create and assist with management of project schedules and resource planning.
• Conduct critiques with clear and consistent direction to the art team.
• Demonstrate a high level of creativity and originality in treatments of licensed IP and licensor style guides without violating license issues, or create style guides if none exist.
• Responsible for mentoring, training, career direction and performance evaluations for the Art teams.
