Join a team creating the system software to power Sony's PlayStation 3 games. Lead the development of Sony's response to DirectX, in close cooperation with our online and 3d group, both system and programming tools. Inspire a team to create the world's best game system software.

Responsibilities:
• The Manager of Game Systems Engineering will be the person to marshal the "game system" software development efforts of the T&T Platform Group.
• Candidate will be responsible for guiding design and development decisions, including participation in architectural choices, over game system components such as Movieplayer, Lua, memory systems, filesystems, compression, etc.
• Direct the software systems development, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of the game system software components, and will ensure that our products meet high standards of usability and design excellence.
• Determine specifications for user interfaces and internal structures for products in development, and will work cross-functionally to evaluate, design, build, and test the product enhancements requested by others.
• Evaluate and hire personnel to develop the specified systems. This individual also will contribute to future developments in the Platform Group by finding new technologies for us to develop, and by helping evangelize our technology with the game teams. We want someone who has a lot of hands-on experience developing games and system modules, and we need someone who is an excellent communicator and a consensus builder. We expect the manager to be a good engineer as well as an experienced team leader.
