Marketing Game Manager

Description

The Marketing Game Manager (MGM) is responsible for integrating the marketing function into the development process. The MGM works with development staff to ensure that marketing insight and competitive factors are leveraged to maximize the commercial success of WB titles. This position also works with WB’s brand marketing, product marketing, trade marketing and PR staff to develop and facilitate marketing tactics throughout the product lifecycle. Ultimately, the MGM ensures WB titles meet consumer demands and further the establishment and success of WB brands and franchises.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works closely with development staff in shaping product features and positioning. Uses marketing concepts and intelligence to inform development decisions and maximize product success.

• Continually evaluates market intelligence, consumer patterns, and the competitive landscape for product strategies and insights. Conducts, coordinates and/or commissions research and testing to identify commercial strengths and challenges. Exploits this information throughout the development process to recommend adjustments that will ensure product viability and proper market positioning.

• Works closely with other functional areas across WB (e.g. Brand Managers, PR, Product Marketing, Trade Marketing, Sales, etc.) to develop and facilitate successful consumer, trade, and media marketing tactics throughout the development cycle.

• Envisions and conceives marketing assets that will differentiate WB product, demonstrate product strengths, and create consumer excitement. Works with development staff to produce high-quality marketing assets for editorial, packaging, advertising, game manuals and other uses. Aggregates and disseminates marketing assets for use by a world-wide marketing organization.

• Identifies, develops and executes strategies for establishing and growing online communities around assigned brand/title. Cultivates brand image and reputation by managing and online presence that maintains consumer engagement.

• Trains Producers and other development staff on best practices for demonstrating product to external parties. Where appropriate, serves as product spokesperson and demonstrates product to significant audiences.
