SUMMARY
The Online Engagement (OE) Group within the Programs team of the Exploratorium, consists of the following categories: Public Website, Editorial, Web Program, and Interactive Media. The Online Program Manager will manage and evaluate all web-related work that comes into OE; consult with Editorial and Web staff, and Project Directors to set schedules; delegate projects to the web team; and manage the process and progress of each project. He or she will supervise a team of multimedia specialists and software developers that produce rich web material. The Online Program Manager will also create protocols, make accurate assessments, measure feasibility, and propose creative ideas to produce results and allocate suitable resources in an efficient and timely manner. The selected candidate will also participate in any parts of the web development work, as needed. This position reports to the head of Online Engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Field requests for new Web sites, changes to existing sites, original or updated Web design work, video production, and other work related to the Web site, as needed
· Create production schedules and manage a web team, for multiple projects
· Engage with people/groups requesting work and with production and technical staff to define project requirements and specifications
· Use existing web-production tools and systems-including those used for content and digital asset management, version control, issue tracking and documentation.
· Initiate, implement, and assure closure of projects using project management tools
· Provide quality assurance for web content publishing by ensuring that a site’s functional requirements are defined and by testing the site’s functionality to ensure that it works as designed and that content is published correctly
· Work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Online Engagement on administrative and budgetary issues
· Suggest creative, tactful solutions to any problems that arise in regards to trafficking project workflow, and troubleshoot problems that occur
· Meet regularly with the OE Group Director, Web Director, and Editorial Director to apprise them of upcoming work and help form project teams
· Brainstorm creatively with staff, inside and out of the group, as needed
