Founded in 1931, Ringling College of Art and Design is a private professional college fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and CIDA, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. Ringling College of Art and Design’s primary mission is to prepare students to be discerning visual thinkers and ethical practitioners in their chosen area of art and design and to provide an intensive professional education in the visual arts. It is authorized to award the BFA in eleven visual arts disciplines and the BA in the Business of Art and Design, a new program that bridges the business world with art and design education. The Computer Animation Department: The Computer Animation Department is a nationally respected program, which houses two separate majors- the Computer Animation major, and the Game Art + Design major. A highly collaborative teaching environment merges the aesthetic of feature film with today’s most current interactive gaming hardware and software. Game Art + Design students design, create, and analyze the visual components of games.

The Position: The Computer Animation Department is seeking candidates with expertise in game theory and creative applications to join a dedicated faculty teaching Game Art + Design. Although faculty in the Department teach towards both degrees, the primary responsibility of this position will focus on teaching students game design and concept development leading to the creation of visual assets that make computer games.

Responsibilities: Among the duties and responsibilities, this position requires expertise in the principles and methodologies of game design. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching three courses per semester using high-end resources to include teaching introductory through advanced courses in game theory and game mechanics. Active participation with faculty, department, and college service is required.
