Job Description and Responsibilities:
As a Technical Animator working on this very unique Action title, you will be working alongside a talented group of Character Artists & Animators, helping further build the animation pipelines, processes and tools.

We are looking for someone highly motivated and skilled in Mel and Python scripting to work with the animation team on every technical aspect of our animation pipeline. A well-rounded and determined individual with a multi-skilled background in both technical and artistic capabilities is essential for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide all animation related technical support for both gameplay and cinematic animation teams
- Problem Solver - constantly striving to optimize and enhance an effective animation pipeline while identifying workflow improvements, providing and directing trouble shooting efforts for the animation teams
- Give technical direction and criticism where needed for all in-game and cinematic character rigs, animation tools and animation pipelines
- Work closely with the programming teams and modeling teams to develop pipelines and assets including props, vehicles and optimal rigs
- Work with Art Director, Lead Character Artist and Lead Animators to help establish, define, and manage animation content creation
- Continually evaluate and initiate procedures to optimize production and workflow for the animation teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation and animation pipelines with our talented group of programmers and technical artists
- Understand and provide solutions for all animation technical problems that arise throughout production
Requirements:
- You have shipped a minimum of 2 x AAA titles as Technical Animator or Character Rigger
- You have at least 5 years professional experience in the games industry, 3 years of which have been as a character rigger.
- 3 years of Maya and/or Motionbuilder experience
- Experience in writing complex scripts in any major 3D package (Mel, Python and MAX)
- Excellent knowledge of next-gen animation systems
- Great understanding of anatomy and kinetics for humans and other animals/creatures
- Experience creating a variety of character rigs, weapons, various props and vehicles
- Ability to collaborate effectively with character lead and game designers
- Solid 3D math: basic linear algebra (trig, vector math, matrix math)
- A demo reel or website that demonstrates a solid understanding of rigging and/or animation related scripting which contains an explanation of what you were responsible for, what tools were used, etc.
