Our Origin Story
Way back in 1993, a UNC graduate student named Jeff Butterworth left school to build one of the world’s first commercial Photoshop plug-ins. Finley Lee joined him quickly thereafter, and Alien Skin Software was born. They released the Eye Candy plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, which is still going strong today.

In the decades since, Alien Skin has steadily evolved to become an industry-leading creator of award-winning image editing apps. Photographers and graphic designers appreciate the creative possibilities and time savings that Alien Skin apps provide them. For many of them, Alien Skin apps are essential part of their workflow.

Who We Are
An elite band of high-tech image processing rocket scientists, beamed to Earth by an advanced alien civilization eager to help humankind with its image editing needs? Or a hard-working group of programming nerds and creative types with a passion for developing creative imaging apps? When the espresso flows, sometimes we’re not sure.
