Sr Game Designer

Description

THE COMPANY
EA Mobile is the world’s leading mobile game publisher and the fastest growing division of Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS). EA Mobile’s industry-leading portfolio includes 50+ top-25 iPhone, iPad, and Android games including Tetris, Scrabble, Monopoly, and The Sims as well as half of the top-10 games on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. With the acquisition of Angry Birds publisher Chillingo, social gaming leader Playfish, and Plants vs. Zombie’s creator PopCap games, EA has shown its strong commitment to embracing the emerging digital gaming platforms. Montreal is a 500+ people studio with a strong focus on casual games, and home to the world-renowned Scrabble digital franchise.

THE INDUSTRY
The mobile gaming industry is exploding. Consumer spending will top $5.6B globally this year and is expected to double to $11B by 2014. The introduction of the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices has created unprecedented access to consumers and created a massive new crop of engaged gamers. In fact, in a traditionally male-skewed gaming sector, over half of mobile gamers are now women. Simultaneously, online social gaming has emerged as an immense and sustainable industry with EA’s “FIFA Superstars”, “Pet Society”, and “Restaurant City” now reaching an estimated 52M monthly users on Facebook. These mobile and social worlds are converging as virtual currency-driven, free-to-play, “Games-as-a-Service” are now leading the mobile gaming charts.
