VFX Coordinator

General Summary:

The Visual Effects Coordinator assists the VFX Producer, Digital Production Manager and Supervisors in the smooth running of the show by facilitating communication and information sharing between artists, supervisors and the production management team. Essential Job Functions Supports the VFX Producer and Supervisors to meet production priorities, delivery targets and task deadlines. Has thorough knowledge of shots in progress and communicates updates from the production management team to the crew. Notifies Production Manager of shot status, scheduling changes and conflicts. Responsible for managing the flow of information across the department, notifying artists of shot assignments, schedule and task changes. Inputs shot information into the production tracking database, including element breakdowns, asset/shot descriptions and delivery updates. Schedules, prepares and tracks submissions for artist rounds, crew dailies and director reviews. Double checks all dailies and/or items for delivery (crop mask, full frame count, etc.). Creates and distributes review notes to artists. Sets up and maintains production binders. Responds to department needs and crew requests under VFX Producer’s supervision. Requirements

Qualifications:

B.S./B.A. in film, art or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2+ years experience coordinating CG/2d production processes for visual effects feature films and/or commercial productions. Highly detail-oriented and organized with ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, initiates follow-up action. Proven ability to multi-task and handle high volume needs in a deadline-driven environment. Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project or Fasttrack, Shotgun or Filemaker Pro shot tracking/database software.
