Contact Singapore, on behalf of Lucasfilm Singapore, invites you to apply for the position of Lead IS Engineer (based in Singapore).
Based in our Lucasfilm Singapore Studio, this position acts as Lead for a team that designs, builds and maintains our proprietary production systems and web applications. The tools focus on artist and production related tools including systems such as: Asset Management, Production Tracking, Workflow Systems and Resource Management.
Responsible for the architecting, development and documentation of production software and web applications.
Provides leadership on development projects and mentors junior and mid-level developers.
Works with Project Manager and clients to establish priorities and work advise on work assignments for team members.
Investigates emerging, innovative technologies and the potential for current and future web and scripting technologies.
Demonstrates conceptual leadership and helps drive technical development in new areas.
Serves as domain expert for software and/or web applications used in production at Lucasfilm.
Diagnoses and effects resolution of end-user problems
Communicates with end-users and end-user groups to determine technical requirements and disseminate information regarding project status.
Collaborates and works closely with US counterparts on design and development, project priorities and staffing.
Acts as a liaison between outside vendors and the department for purposes of coordination of maintenance and bug fixing
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
7+ years demonstrated experience in software development, preferably in large teams
Expert knowledge of database such as Oracle and PLSQL and cutting-edge web-development technologies is required
Experience building rich web applications with HTML, CSS, PHP, Pylons, JSON, Javascript, jQuery, Ajax, and other modern libraries and languages is required.
Significant experience with and strong knowledge of the Python programming language preferred.
Experience using, and/or developing software under Linux preferred.
Strong leadership skills and ability to share knowledge, with great communication and team management skills
Must be able to work well with a wide range of personality types and have the ability to work in all levels of the organization.
Must be detail oriented with high strong attention to quality control.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Demonstrated ability to use logic to problem-solve. Willingness to take initiative and resolve problems.
Experience supporting End Users is required. Must be customer service orientated
Ability to work well independently within a fast paced, dynamic, deadline orientated environment.
Previous experience working in a CG production environment is a plus.
