Mantra PreLighting TD
Description
Mantra Prelighting TDs
are responsible for creating Lookdev assets ranging from simple hard surface
props to complex furred characters. A Prelighter works with multiple disciplines,
both upstream and downstream, including Modeling, Texturing, Rigging, Technical
Animation, Lighting and Compositing. The Lookdev assets passed downstream are
expected to render efficiently and cleanly across multiple lighting
environments.
Requirements
* Model
construction and analysis:
- Ability to analyze appropriateness of UV layout and understand how
maps will be affected when applied to materials
- Knowledge of polygon material groups
* Texture
painting:
- Understanding how different illumination model parameters are
accounted for with specific types of maps (i.e,. diffuse, specular, displacement,
etc)
- Basic knowledge of photoshop
* Rendering:
- Understanding basic principles of scanline rendering and raytracing
- Familiarity with different types of illumination models and rendering
parameters

* A minimum of
two years working or equivalent experience in discipline
* A minimum of
two years of Mantra rendering experience.
* Solid Unix
experience.
* A history of
consistent high-end aesthetic and technical execution
* Strong demo
reel/portfolio in photorealistic lighting, texturing and look development
* Must have a
minimum of a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Art, Computer Science, Computer
Animation, Engineering, or a related field.
