It’s an especially exciting time to join Hidden Variable, as we’re
just starting on our next project in pursuit of our next hit, so now is your
time to get in on the ground floor.
We are looking for a stellar candidate that can successfully lead and contribute to a small,
focused engineering team on our next original IP and to help shape the
technical foundation for our studio. Whether you fancy yourself
a Lead Programmer, Technical Director, or even CTO- all of those are potentially on the table. Here at Hidden Variable, we put one’s contributions
first, not titles. That’s the big picture –
details to follow.
To be clear, we’re not just looking for a warm body. We’re looking
for a super talented individual who is in it for the long haul and wants to put
their creativity, love of technology and passion to help us make something
incredible and we’ll reward you generously for your contributions, including an
equity position in the company!
Current
Responsibilities:
Coding (70%) – Eager to get your hands dirty? You’ll architect, document,
implement, test, debug and maintain code for iOS and Android. Being actively
involved in the hands-on development aspects of the game will be a large chunk
of your time so you better like it and be good at it!
Managing/Directing (30%) - You’ll be overseeing the
work of our extensive programming department (only one engineer currently, but
more to come) while ensuring that tasks are completed on time and meet the high
quality requirements for the game. Your inherent awesomeness will result in
high-quality, polished and reliable code. You’ll do this while mentoring, sharing,
and working with other departments daily, all of whom will be thrilled to be teaming
up with you. Collaborate away!
Opportunities
for growth/ownership:
Pursuing Your Dreams - As one of just a
handful of senior leaders within the company, you’ll be an integral part of
setting our company initiatives. Although your role will shift and grow from
time to time, at the end of the day, you should leave the studio every day super
pumped about what you're working on and itching to get back into it.
Forecasting – You’ll ultimately be
driving and navigating the technology bus for the company. We’re looking for
someone who is always ahead of the curve, thinking of new ways to use existing
