Texture/Look Development Artist
Description
We are currently seeking
Texture/Look Development Artists at various levels for both our Feature Animation and VFX groups
in our Port St. Lucie, Florida location.
These are STAFF positions.
Summary:
The Texture &
Look Development Artist creates computer generated textured surfaces on vfx or animated characters or environments from scratch and sees them through the
textures pipeline from start to finish. They will also be involved in the Look
Development of the final asset.
Principal Duties
and Responsibilities:
Create textures that meet all technical, aesthetic and graphic
design standards for the project.
Work closely with the modeling artists to ensure all textures work
smoothly throughout the pipeline.
Work closely with look development and lighting artists to ensure
textures are working technically and
aesthetically in the lighting pipeline.
When tasked, is responsible for working with the Texture &
Look Development Lead to define the final look of
an asset or assets.
Complete tasks within production deadlines while being largely
self-directed.
Other related tasks as needed.
Requirements
Education,
Experience and Skills Required:
3+ years of experience creating textures for feature films or
television in Photoshop with experience in Maya.
Bachelor’s level degree in Fine Arts or equivalent experience that
would equal that level of professionalism and expertise.
Extensive experience working with animated elements to create
textures.
Understanding of color spaces and working in a linear-lighting
pipeline.
Extensive experience editing and generating UVs.
Zbrush, Mudbox and a 3D Paint Package experience is required.
Look development or lighting experience is preferred.
Modeling experience is a plus.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Leading or mentoring experience is a plus.
