The Animation Rigger is responsible for the efficient and effective
rig designed to assist the animator in maximum movement, stability, and
ease of animation in regards to puppets, props and interaction with the
Essential Job Functions
Design and execute rigs for puppets, props and greens.
Able to work under tight deadlines and communicate if there are delays.
Inventory and track materials needed for work flow and communicate with when inventory is low.
Works directly with the puppet department, stage crew and Art Department Supervisor.
Makes and communicates estimated time needed to complete work and tasks.
B.S./B.A. in film, art or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience working in film and stop motion production preferred.
Strong mechanical skills.
Able to work in fine detail for extend periods of time.
Previous experience with silicone a plus.
Understanding of metalwork to include brazing and silver soldering and the use of metalshop tools.
