Visual Arts Digital Studio Technician
Description
Responsibilities include the support,
maintenance and configuring of hardware components (including internal
components) and peripherals (including projectors, display devices, audio
devices, printers, scanners and related cabling); installation of software
(including operating systems, fonts, drivers, applications and plug-ins) and
the creation and deployment of software images in the art labs; maintaining
equipment inventory, performing regular functionality checks, and ensuring that
equipment in disrepair is repaired;
communicating with department faculty about conditions in the labs;
assisting faculty during classes for troubleshooting and other classroom
assistance; organizing and maintaining administrative passwords, software
licenses and support information, dongles and media; primary contact with
Adobe, Autodesk, AVID, Apple, Media Dimensions and other companies important to
the operation of the art labs; assist faculty with hiring and supervision of
student workers; other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required: BA/BFA in Computer Graphics, Multimedia,
Computer Animation or related field; experience in configuring both Macintosh
and Windows environments, as well as expert user experience with the majority
of the graphics, animation, audio and multimedia software used in the Visual
Art program facilities including Autodesk Softimage, Adobe Master Suite
(Aftereffects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign,
Encore and Audition). Experience with AVID
Unity network resources preferred. Lifting
of hardware components weighing as much as 40 pounds may be required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
