Emergent Media Center, Division of Communication and Creative Media
The
College is seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager in the Emergent
Media Center (EMC) to join our enthusiastic team in a creative, dynamic
and cutting edge environment. The EMC is a studio-based academic center
where students are given the opportunity to define the future of
interactive technologies and to become leaders in technology, innovation
and insight. The Sr. Technical Project Manager is responsible for
overseeing all production projects at the Center, ensuring technical and
creative continuity and quality, mentoring student production teams,
and overseeing the MFA graduate student project managers. As the front
line manager for the production, the finalist will be involved in
setting the technical and creative direction of projects, carrying out
duties such as defining initial project scope and overseeing production
and delivery schedules while maintaining solid client relationships.
This position serves as a technical and academic liaison between the EMC
and the College community advising on the latest research and trends in
media and technology.
Successful candidates must have strong
communication, negotiation, mediation, coaching, and team building
skills as well as strong resource planning. Be capable of critiquing
work in a positive way and proactively identifying risks associated with
meeting project milestones. A background in emergent media, mobile
and/or game development and project management is necessary for success.
A solid understanding of software development or media creation
processes, ability to offer continuity for clients across disciplines
and all projects is required. Flexibility, creativity, and high level of
enthusiasm are essential.
Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience required. Graduate degree preferred. Travel may be required.
