Senior Character Artist

Description

Harmonix is seeking accomplished Character Artists to envision bold, new game initiatives and forge another generation of innovative titles. Character artists will create everything from the initial concept drawings, the models, and texture maps, and add the finishing touches.

Responsibilities:

  • Create amazing high-poly character models with refined texture maps in 3D Studio Max and Z-Brush

  • Help establish and refine character pipelines

  • Work quickly and effectively to contribute to the overall progress of the character team

  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Work with producers to keep the game on track and stress-free


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as a Character Artist in the games industry with minimum one shipped title
  • Excellent skills in modeling and texture mapping, including diffuse, normal, and specular maps
  • Experience with 3DSMax and Z-Brush
  • Demonstrated understanding of game creation limitations/dependencies
  • Demonstrated traditional drawing skills
  • Self-starting and organized
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability and willingness to create games that do not follow traditional game-art styles
  • BFA from accredited Art or Design college
  • Experience with Animation, Rigging, Special Effects a plus
