PROJECT: Storyboard Artist
Description
The Storyboard Artist works with the Story Supervisor and Director to develop expressive and entertaining storyboards for an animated feature film. He/She translates either unfinished ideas or script pages into full scenes.
Illustrates, and completes storyboards within production timelines.
Pitches boards to directors and story crew; makes revisions as required.
Collects visual references.
Ability to come up with inventive ideas and story material.
Willingness to rework material multiple times while keeping a fresh eye.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years in feature film or television production, or equivalent experience.
Extensive training in and/or strong demonstrable understanding of the principles of art and film.
Expertise in scene, shot, camera, and character composition is required.
Experience in directing either 2D or 3D animation very strongly desired.
Experience or knowledge of cinematic techniques, language and shot composition required.
Highly proficient at rendering imaginary scenes with little or no reference.
Proficiency in Photoshop required.
Demo reel and/or portfolio required.
