seeks a talented Level Designer to build gameplay environments for a
brand new IP on next-generation hardware. This is an exciting
opportunity to contribute creatively to the studio on a project that is
unlike anything Harmonix has ever done before.
Work the Design Lead and other discipline leads to turn concepts into compelling, gameplay-rich levels.
Use 3D modeling software to build and
refine three-dimensional gameplay “graybox” environment shells, and work
closely with the artists responsible for translating those shells into
Use proprietary worldbuilding tools to
place combat encounters, environmental interactions, AI behaviors and
other scripted elements.
Work with art and cinematics teams to integrate cutscenes and other narrative elements.
Develop scenarios that exploit core mechanics to create a variety of unique challenges and experiences.
Manage and refine the overall challenge
and flow of individual levels, and collaborate with other designers to
manage consistency and quality across levels.
Help design and implement features and systems that drive level-based gameplay.
Experience with 3d modeling, preferably with 3DSMax, and world-building tool sets.
Minimum of 1 year experience working as a game designer.
Must have intimate knowledge of level design, theory, and execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven track record in a deeply collaborative design environment.
Ability to manage own deadlines and deliver polished content on time.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
