3D Environmental Artist
|Schell Games is currently seeking a talented 3d artist to join our current team working on projects ranging from online worlds and handheld games to themed interactive attractions. Team experience is essential as is the ability to be self-directed and be able to prioritize your workload efficiently.|
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to handle both technical and artistic issues during game development as well as be able to work quickly in a team atmosphere with schedules and reliable milestone delivery. Passion for precise environmental/prop design and the ability to reach a wide range of styles within the media are crucial.
This candidate should have previous experience working within Zbrush and Maya to create high fidelity props and environment elements for interactive game worlds. Experience with high to low polygon pipelines and material application is required. The ability to work with lighting systems and any engine world-building experience is a plus. Any previous experience with exporting from 3d applications to separate engines for game integration is also desirable.
• Candidate should be able to make new assets match similar existing assets in all steps of the pipeline.
• Should have experience setting up efficient collision objects for individual assets.
• Will need to work within provided budgets for polygons and texture size.
• Will need to follow project-specific guidelines for optimization prior to completion of each asset.
Portfolio of work must be available for review, displaying examples of various elements of environment design and propwork
Expert knowledge of Maya and ZBrush
Flexibility with adoption of art styles and direction is critical
BS/BA/BFA degree in graphic design, fine arts, animation, visual communication, or similar
Minimum 2 years industry experience in related field
