Art Director - New Concepts

Pocket Gems’ games have been downloaded over 150 million times by players around the world.
 
Pocket Gems is looking for a seasoned Art Director to be the creative visionary for Pocket Gems’ new wave of 3D games. In this role, you will be able to draw from a background of diverse styles to create a vision that will advance our game portfolio. You’ll be responsible for collaborating with product managers while guiding a team of artists to transform your artistic vision into concepts, wireframes, and finally a 3D mobile game that will be played by millions!

What you will be doing!

• Create concepts for only one game, at least until launch or in steady state
• Provide art direction to artists on game teams.
• Create the game's visual style-guide and get buy-in from team & company.
• Proactively solicit feedback on the game's visuals during production and filter feedback for the lead artist to action. Have confidence and good reasoning to push back when appropriate
• Ensure highest visual bar possible for artwork
• You will always need to be looking at the project as a whole.

Qualifications:

• BFA, MFA, art degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years as Lead Artist or Art Director
• Experience providing creative leadership to a team of artists with 1+ shipped AAA title(s)
• Effective in maintaining constant communications with diverse team
• Ability to value the big picture, while understanding the importance of maintaining timelines and meeting deadlines
• Experience achieving broad buy-in on your vision
• Film and/or console/PC game experience a plus
• 3D experience a plus
