Solutions Product Engineer - GeoEvent

Description

Esri’s ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server product enables the incorporation of real-time data, performs continuous processing and analysis on events, and produces features and alerts. This is a challenging opportunity for you to help us provide frontline users of GIS applications with instantaneous information to react and respond in a timely manner.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with product management, product engineers, and software engineers to functionally design and test GIS software
  • Work with product management to document key user workflows and functions that will be engineered into the software
  • Execute multiple projects concurrently by working with managers to set goals and milestones
  • Define and execute software testing activities including functional, performance, and holistic scenarios
  • Develop technical product documentation including user manuals, knowledgebase articles, tutorials and training materials, etc.
  • Provide end user technical support assistance as needed
  • Contribute to the development and presentation of product demonstrations to clients and stakeholders
  • Work with product and release managers to conduct software release activities as needed 

Job Requirements

  • At least one year of work experience in a position with similar responsibilities
  • GIS data management experience
  • Knowledge of or experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and ability to propose solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, geography, or related field, depending on position level

 

Recommended Qualifications

  • Programming experience with Python or other languages such as JavaScript, .NET, or Java
  • Experience writing test cases and automating tests
    • Familiarity with network protocols, distributed computing, and/or stream processing
    • Experience supporting internationalization or localization for software development efforts
  • Project management or planning experience on project teams
  • Three years of advanced GIS experience in mapping, geodata management, or geoprocessing projects
