Solutions Product Engineer - GeoEvent
Description

releasing innovative real-time GIS software products. Esri’s ArcGIS GeoEvent
Processor for Server product enables the incorporation of real-time data,
performs continuous processing and analysis on events, and produces features
and alerts. This is a challenging opportunity for you to help us provide
frontline users of GIS applications with instantaneous information to react and
respond in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Work with
product management, product engineers, and software engineers to
functionally design and test GIS software
- Work with
product management to document key user workflows and functions that will
be engineered into the software
- Execute
multiple projects concurrently by working with managers to set goals and
milestones
- Define and
execute software testing activities including functional, performance, and
holistic scenarios
- Develop
technical product documentation including user manuals, knowledgebase
articles, tutorials and training materials, etc.
- Provide
end user technical support assistance as needed
- Contribute
to the development and presentation of product demonstrations to clients
and stakeholders
- Work with
product and release managers to conduct software release activities as
needed
Job Requirements
- At least
one year of work experience in a position with similar responsibilities
- GIS data
management experience
- Knowledge
of or experience working with relational database management systems
(RDBMS)
- Demonstrated
creative problem-solving skills and ability to propose solutions
- Excellent
interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
- Bachelor’s
in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, geography, or related
field, depending on position level
Recommended Qualifications
- Programming
experience with Python or other languages such as JavaScript, .NET, or
Java
- Experience
writing test cases and automating tests
- Familiarity
with network protocols, distributed computing, and/or stream processing
- Experience
supporting internationalization or localization for software development
efforts
- Project
management or planning experience on project teams
- Three
years of advanced GIS experience in mapping, geodata management, or
geoprocessing projects
