Product Manager

Primary responsibilities:

  • Analyze and determine target customers, user needs, partners, and pricing models.
  • Develop strategies and execute innovative product plans to drive revenue and scale the business.
  • Define and communicate a product roadmap aligned with company objectives, and supported by business cases, market research, customer data and competitive analysis.
  • In partnership with UX, execute customer research and usability testing. Measure customer satisfaction and ensure improvements for a valuable, engaging & enjoyable end-user experience.
  • Document, validate and prioritize product specifications including goals, use cases and requirements within an Agile/SCRUM development environment.
  • Lead and motivate a cross-functional team of business owners, designers and engineers to refine the feature set, packaging, positioning, and pricing.
  • Evaluate, select, help negotiate, integrate, and build long-lasting relationships with key business partners to accelerate time-to-market and for cost effective leverage of 3rd party technology platforms.
  • Coordinate go-to-market launch & post-launch activities. Gather customer feedback to validate that the product meets stated metrics. Prioritize and deliver necessary enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Content Planning, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders to shepherd product concepts through validation, iteration, and execution.

Experience and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years in consumer Internet/Web product management
  • Demonstrable domain expertise, with at least 2 years focus in one or more of:
    • Online interactive education
    • Community building & engagement, or Social Networking
    • End-to-end consumer product user funnel management & optimization (for example: directly responsible for visitor conversion into active, retained users)
    • Content search, discovery, and personalization
  • Passionate about providing an excellent customer and user experience, creating and delivering outstanding products and innovation
  • Excellent analytics & problem solving skills, with the ability to use hard data to assess opportunities
  • Proven track record of full responsibility through the product lifecycle. Has shipped successful products. Determines needs, aligns priorities, defines requirements, delivers to market, ensures value is delivered post-launch.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Able to articulate the product strategy and roadmap, and comfortable presenting to senior executives
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate team members, take initiative, drive for clarity, achieve results and be accountable for product delivery
  • Passion for staying current on technical trends, with the ability to work with engineering to adapt to technical constraints without comprising user needs
  • Solid business understanding of finance, marketing, strategy, sales, and business development
  • Ability to trust & strong relationships at all levels, influence without formal authority, and push back when appropriate
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive a fast-paced environment, concurrently managing multiple strategic and tactical initiatives
  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent experience is required
