UI Engineer

Description

UI ENGINEER

Sometimes you’re prototyping one thing and stumble across something else entirely. Something incredibly fun.  Something original. It’s tactical, it’s fast, and it’ll surprise you. Our special little project has morphed into a vibrant, stylized megacity and we’re ready to let this world grow and see what it’s got. It’s a wild ride! Are you up for it?

HERE’S WHY YOU’RE AWESOME:

  • You have both a Type A and Type B personality. You became a UI Engineer because you love the logic of programming but also need the creative benefits of a visually pleasing design to sleep well at night.
  • You put the FUN in Functionality. You maximize the utility in everything you do, have written essays on the pros and cons of the iOS, and know the best way to make the most out of the least. Your prime directive is ease and accessibility in EVERYTHING.
  • Let me lay it out for you: Designers, Artists, a new style of gameplay, and a sci-fi aesthetic which all demand slick visuals. Iteration, exploration, and innovation are needed to match up with all the newness of this unique world.
  • You’re a programming wizard. You dream in C++, write sonnets about your favorite data structure, and sing songs in machine code. You throw away cooking recipes that don’t complete in linear time.
  • You fix what’s broke, and you don’t broke what’s fixed. Your favorite moment of 2013 was when you found a memory corruption bug. You get crash reports texted to your phone. You spend your weekends reading other peoples’ check-in comments.
  • You play well with others. You know there’s a ‘me’ in team--but it’s backwards. Hogging the limelight gives you a sunburn. You know the favorite color of everyone on your team and you bake special cookies for that level designer with a peanut allergy.

HERE’S THE LIST OF THINGS THAT YOU’VE STUDIED, USED, AND/OR WON A NOBEL PRIZE FOR:

  • MMORPG development
  • Art/Graphic Design
  • Unreal
  • Human factors/usability testing

Okay, maybe you’re not all of these things—yet. That’s okay. The question is, do you want to be?
