Technical Artist

Description

We are looking for a skilled Technical Artist to join our development team. Our Technical Artist will play a critical role in the creation and support of brand new and existing social and casual games for mobile platforms including iPhone, iPad and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and maintain an efficient art production workflow/pipeline

  • Handle trouble-shooting / debugging / firefighting on technical issues
  • Bridge communications between artists and programmers
  • Write shaders/scripts/tools to help artists create more efficiently
  • Setup character rigging, skinning, and lighting systems
  • Research/oversee/implementation of map types, pixel shaders and particle systems
  • Advise producers on technical cost/impact of change requests
  • Investigate and advise on methods and tools prior to production
  • Maintain awareness of game engine capabilities and limitations
  • Cut through lingo to write tutorials and documents in for 'layman' team members
  • Set up of project directory structures and naming conventions
  • Assume the Advisory/Mentor role for revision control softwares (SVN) methods and practices
  • Maintain Input/Admin on Company Art Wiki for pertinent topics
  • Actively advise or inform the teams, leads and AD of foreseeable issues or problematic techniques
  • Integrate assets into the game while honoring the artistic vision and technical limits of each platform
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years required as a Technical Artist on high-quality mobile games
  • Strong professional experience with shader writing and creation, special effects and particle systems
  • Extensive experience with 3DS Max, VRay and ZBrush
  • Internal management experience
  • Clear understanding and prior experience in 2d and 3d game development pipelines
  • Professional experience in Unity
  • Positive, inspiring, can-do attitude
