As a Senior Animator for our BioWare Edmonton studio, this role will influence the next generation of world class narrative driven games.

What does BioWare look for?

  • 5+ years’ experience within the gaming industry.
  • Exceptional skill required in the animation of bipedal / creature / organic and hard surface forms. Candidate should have good practical knowledge of technical animation tasks: rigging / skinning. Illustration and modeling experience is a plus but not required.
  • An ability to convey mood, emotion, motivation and personality through animation as demonstrated in a portfolio.
  • Interact and collaborate with the different departments (Design, Art, Programming, Writing, etc.) Excellent problem solving skills. Candidate must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them.
  • Fluency with Maya, MotionBuilder and Photoshop. Experience with animation state flow systems desired.
  • Classical Animation background, Degree in Fine Arts or Computer Animation or equivalent professional experience.
  • A thorough understanding of the key aspects of game development including detailed knowledge of concept, pre-production, production and post-production phases.
