Animal Logic, an
award winning animation, visual effects and design studio is coming to
Vancouver!
We are seeking an accomplished
Head of IT, to set up and manage the Animal Logic Vancouver studio IT
operations. You’ll provide leadership across the studio’s technical
teams (Data Operations, Render Wrangling, Systems Engineering and Support
Engineering) and in partnership with the Sydney technology team, provide an
exceptional user experience.
This
position reports to the Head of Studio Operations, Vancouver.
Key responsibilities include:
- Set up the
Vancouver studio IT operations ready for production and provide leadership
across the Vancouver technical team
- Set up appropriate
monitoring and management processes of the IT infrastructure, developing and
implementing risk management and mitigation strategies across all platforms
- Develop a
collaborative working relationship between the IT teams in Vancouver and Sydney
to ensure a common and standardised approach in both studios
- Provide
technical direction, including participating in research and understanding of
existing and new technologies and providing strategic, innovative, synergistic,
cost effective technical leadership for the Vancouver team
- Taking responsibility
for the management of all IT resources and the smooth operations of the studio
- Management and performance of the Vancouver IT
team, including interviewing, selecting and hiring, building the team to the
required levels, conducting performance and salary reviews, coaching and
developing team members
- Actively
participating on the Vancouver leadership team through operational planning,
development of company guidelines and policies, and providing the team with
relevant and timely information
- Work
collaboratively with the Vancouver Software Development Manager and R&D
team in Sydney to ensure a common and standardised approach in both studios
- Help
create, monitor and report on capital expenditure and operational IT budgets,
conduct all activities with financial awareness and make recommendations for
improvements to the group
To be successful in
this role you will have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in building, developing and managing
IT teams
- Computer Science or other related degree
- Creative
industry experience (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent
communication, problem solving and influencing skills
