3D Artist Environment

Following the development of many successful titles on iPhone such as the Modern Combat, Dungeon Hunter, Gangstar and Asphalt franchises, Gameloft Montreal is currently seeking a 3D Environment Artist to collaborate on its next generation of iPhone, iPad and Android games.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of a team based in Montreal with international reach, you will participate in producing 3D backgrounds and assets for several projects with varied graphical universes on the latest generation of mobile platforms.

• Work in collaboration with international production teams and the World Art Director
• Create high-quality 3D backgrounds and graphic assets (organic, mechanical, architectural) for the latest generation of mobile platforms
• Able to adapt and share your experience regarding the use of new tools and production techniques
• Follow artistic instructions related to design
• Show meticulousness and organizational skill regarding work management
• Take responsibility for assigned tasks and project monitoring

Skills

• Expert knowledge in traditional 3D modeling workflows (3ds Max or Maya), texture creation and material creation
• Expert knowledge in new production tools: ZBrush, xNormal, DDO/NDO, Substance Designer/Painter, Knald, etc. (albedo, roughness, normal, spec, AO, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of lighting, shading and baking techniques
• Solid artistic foundation (understanding of colour, composition and lighting)
• Experience producing real-time modular environments and expert knowledge in one or more production frameworks (at least one AAA production to your credit under Unity or UDK)
• Awareness of the technical capabilities of the latest generation of mobile platforms

Profile

• Interest in varied graphic styles (cartoonish/stylized/photorealistic)
• Good visual culture in various fields (architecture, design, movies, comics, games, etc.) 
• Open-minded, curious and self-critical
• Organized, efficient and independent
• Passionate about video games and motivated
