CG Supervisor - Vancouver

Description

Working closely with the Head of Production Technology, CG Supervisors, Director, Producer, R&D and the various Sydney and Vancouver departments to implement the established Lego pipeline into the Vancouver facility. Also determine adjustments and effective workflows for the production to achieve the Director’s specific vision.

                      

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with the Sydney CG Supervisors and Software Development Manager to ensure a common and standardised approach to the workflow
  • Work closely with the Sydney and Vancouver based Supervisors to build communication process and establish interstudio communication and collaboration conventions
  • Ensuring consistency with the tools and processes of the Sydney studio
  • In collaboration with the Head of Production Technology, refine and execute the core workflow for Vancouver
  • Work with Head of Studio Operations / Producers to ensure development resources and timing are appropriate
  • Work with the Software Development Manager to determine requirements and timing for new or enhanced tools based on the creative goals of each production
  • Provide strategic, innovative, synergistic, cost effective technical leadership for the Vancouver studio and projects
  • Keeping up with new technology and techniques, sharing the knowledge and where able to efficiently implement
  • Responsible for the leadership and management of the department TDs
  • Recruiting for Department TDs 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 5 years supervisory experience in large scale animated features, animated TV series and/or VFX feature films
  • Proven experience with implementing technical solutions to creative problems
  • Effective leadership, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience with Python or C++ scripting
  • Excellent knowledge of a range of software typically found in digital production such as Maya, Houdini, Mari and Nuke
