Environment Artist (f/m)

Description

As an Environment Artists at YAGER you will work with level designers to build game spaces from initial concept phase to the final polished, playable stage. Your primary duties, under the direction of the art director and senior artists, are in 3D modeling, texturing, and world building. You are expected to collaborate with technical artists and production to assure that areas are beautiful as well as technically feasible within timeframe budgets.


Responsibilities

· Create assets from proxy phase to final shippable  quality

· UV mapping and baking

· Generating materials (using normal maps diffuse maps, specular maps, plus PBR)

· Collaborate with level and narrative designers to create environments which balance aesthetics with playability and technical feasibility


Qualifications

· 2+ years of experience in professional game development

· A gifted eye for helping to develop and work within a designated artistic style, and to execute according to the overall art direction and project goals

· Experience with Unreal 4 tools and workflows including materials and content optimizations

· Fluency in 3DSMax, ZBrush or Mudbox and Photoshop

· Solid knowledge of composition and shape balance

· Adept propagation skills, specifically with modular asset building sets

· Ability to take and apply direction and work well in a team environment

· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

· Passionate about videogames


Desirable skills

· Thorough understanding of shading models both real time, and non real-time

· Strong understanding of architecture

· Experience working in Sub-D, Nurbs, or other high-end modeling formats

· Quixel Suite
