Robotics Software & Control Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Lead disruptive development of advanced capabilities for autonomous legged creatures
  • Stay current with latest advances in robotics
  • Deepen your knowledge of complex integrated robotic systems and their components
  • Practice strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work independently and in highly diverse and multidisciplinary project teams, and with external partners.
  • Deploy rapid experimental iterations, with agile development

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years hands-on experience with advanced robotics systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge, project portfolio and past successes in robot controls and software
  • Robot legged locomotion, balance, posture, gaits, gait planning, kinematics, dynamics, simulation
  • Motion control, force, velocity, position, impedance, stability, PID tuning, latency, filtering
  • Expert C++, hands-on experience with hard realtime control loops, interfacing to motors/sensors
  • Operating Systems, realtime, schedulers, threading, concurrency, memory management, device drivers
  • Common software development tools, environments, compilers, version control, build systems
  • Communication, low latency in realtime systems
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Realtime software architecture development and implementation
  • Localization, navigation, motion planning
  • Required Education:

    BS+MS (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
