About the Position 

As the storyboard artist, you interpret the script into images and sounds that best convey the story and characters presented by the writer while maintaining a quality consistent with the respective series/production plan, and coordinate all of the images and sounds that make up the show. You manage your time effectively and efficiently in order to complete the production on time.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the production for which you are responsible is completed on time
  • Consult with supervising director as to the technical feasibility of elements in the script and suggest creative solutions that will maintain the vision of the series 
  • Consult with supervising director to approve the final storyboard panels and make revisions as needed
  • Maximize the re-use of assets with minor changes when the production schedule calls for it
  • Overall, be aware of the series/show’s continuity
  • Assist with and complete production-related assignments
  • Keep current on storyboarding techniques and technology
  • Ensure the supervising storyboard director’s instructions are carried through by the storyboarding team

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in the industry
  • Excellent understanding of animation timing and posing
  • Familiarity with 3D animation and the strengths and weaknesses of CGI animation
  • Superior understanding of filmic storytelling principles and techniques
  • Able to communicate processes, plans and concepts
  • Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas
  • Able to create entertaining and persuasive messages through storyboards
  • Able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
  • Encourage feedback and new initiatives
  • Able to adapt to multiple show styles
