Software Engineer, Video & Graphic Software

Description

As a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and create a better world. Autodesk accelerates better design through an unparalleled depth of experience and a broad portfolio of software to give customers the power to solve their design, business, and environmental challenges. In addition to designers, architects, engineers, and media and entertainment professionals, Autodesk helps students, educators, and casual creators unlock their creative ideas through user-friendly applications.

Shotgun Software is hiring a senior software engineer to work on RV (“Righteous Viewer”!), the industry standard image and movie player. If you are attending Siggraph, please visit the Shotgun booth for more information!

You will join a team with deep experience in computer graphics and visual effects for film and a passion for making tools for artists, and will help us build a new generation of software to connect and empower artists and studios around the world.
You will have the opportunity to work with myriad technologies from high performance, GPU accelerated, image-processing to cloud based services and your tools will help create some of the most exciting and high-profile feature film and television imagery every year.

You are an excellent engineer with a strong interest in user interface design and implementation and with well developed skills for refining workflows into elegant, appealing solutions. You are naturally inclined to collaborate with artists and are motivated to build tools that get stuff done.

Ideally you have experience with software R&D in a production environment, and exposure to the workflow challenges of modern, far-flung production projects; you have strong C++ and Python skills; and you are familiar with Qt. Hopefully you have experience with RV, Shotgun, and Shotgun Toolkit.
You will join a development team that is distributed around the world and will easily handle the challenges of remote collaboration and communication.
