SUMMARY
OF THE ROLE:
The position of Lighting
Supervisor is a senior studio position and requires someone with previous
experience in CG Supervision and/or supervising the CG lighting on an animated T.V
or Film production.
Successful applicants will have an expert knowledge of CG
Supervision, primarily focused on lighting, compositing and look development
with a solid understanding of the animation production process.
As this is a leadership role, proven leadership,
communication, and organisation skills are required.
Key Areas of responsibilities:

Work across projects in supporting the key creatives and directors in
achieving and delivering the required ‘Look’ for the animation projects within
scope, schedule and pipeline.

Develop the department and supervise the lighting teams. Provide
leadership and support for the Lead Lighters,
both creatively and technically, and ensure they
partner effectively with Production Management and they deliver on their goals.

Partner with Production Management to coordinate the Lighting, Look and
Compositing assignments on productions.
·
Support the overseas studios in their use of the BBF Lighting &
Compositing pipeline and workflows.
·
Identify and outline Lighting and Compositing bottlenecks and deficiencies, technical or otherwise, to the Head of CG, Producers and Pipeline team.
Propose and Implement solutions.

Coordinate the documentation of the Lighting, Shading and Compositing
procedures and workflows for the studio.
·
Collaborate with the Pipeline Team and other 3D Supervisors to make
requests for studio pipeline tool enhancements.
·
Partner with HR in the recruitment of the Lighting crew.
·
Promote
and Facilitate effective communication on lighting between Art directors,
Production management and the CG Teams.
·
Partner with Head
of CG and Production management to facilitate the career growth of the key
talent within the lighting department.
Experience
Required
·
Previous CG/Lighting
Supervision experience required (or equivalent)
·
Managing the look and
lighting on a T.V of Film productions.
·
Expert on lighting in Maya
·
Expert on one (or more)
industry standard renderer(s) (mRay, Arnold, Renderman, V ray, etc)
·
Expert in Nuke or similar
compositing pipeline
·
Experience
with an asset tracking/management system a plus.
