Artistic Manager

We’re hiring for an Artistic Manager to join our Vancouver studio team. Reporting to the VP of Production, the Artistic Manager is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders at our 3 studio locations to provide practical, consistent and proactive advice on matters relating to artist and employee relations. Working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, you will be the liaison to resolve talent matters fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as liaison to resolve talent and HR matters by providing timely and practical advice to managers
  • Initiate and/or participate in the design, analysis and development of talent management programs and projects necessary to meet the business’ changing needs
  • Assist with resolution of employee complaints and conflicts with the view to maintain a respectful work environment
  • Establish and facilitate the internal transfer process of artists between productions
  • Work closely with production managers and senior leadership to ensure all productions are properly staffed
  • Assist with conducting performance and compensation reviews
  • Communicate pertinent company information to all employees such as new procedures, changes, etc
  • Assess and identify opportunities for better efficiency and improvements

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar leadership and/or HR role preferably in film or animation industry
  • Ability to work with people at all levels within the organization
  • Solid understanding of local employment legislations, standards and requirements
  • Experience with Canadian immigration policies (eg. LMIA, work permit and PR) and processes
  • Sense of humour paired with high degree of professionalism
