About the Position

The VFX Supervisor is the creative and technical eye of the show, reviewing and supporting lighting, FX and compositing stages of the production. He or she will work closely with the Director and Art Director to achieve the look of the show. The ideal candidate is an experienced artist with a creative eye and the ability to guide and support their team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Director and Art-Director to create the visual level of the show
• Work closely with CG Supervisor, Pipeline Supervisor and other TDs to identify and solve technical issues within our pipeline
• Identify and communicate and implement the VFX needs of the production
• Manage and support the VFX team (Lighting, FX and Comp) throughout the show
• Review and critique the VFX team via dailies or weeklies
• Mentor and guide the VFX team
• Ensure that all production deadlines are met while meeting quality standards
• Be part of the recruiting process by assisting the HR department with the development of job descriptions, plus sourcing and selecting candidates

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in the animation or film industry, specifically in VFX departments
• Excellent understanding of CGI production and pipelines
• Excellent understanding of Maya’s  FX systems is a must
• Excellent understanding of compositing packages using Nuke and/or Fusion is a must
• Excellent organizational, project management
