Join
SCAD Savannah as a part-time professor of computer art in the School of Digital
Media. Modern artists and designers utilize the computer as a tool for their
craft. The survey of computer art courses serve as a foundation to utilizing
that tool and is required by nearly every student at SCAD. Professors must be
versed in the use of digital technology for various applications and be able to
inspire students to push, utilize and learn more about how to apply the tools
to their particular degree.
In
this role, you will teach survey classes in computer art. Subjects address the
following:

Overview of various computer software
-
File management basics
-
Vector vs. Raster
-
Resolution for print or screen
-
Intro to 3D concepts
-
Timeline animation and exporting of movie files
-
Web portfolio basics
-
Creation of online portfolio as final deliverable
The
professor in this position will communicate the advantages and application of creating
vector and raster imagery, basic 3D modeling, texturing and lighting, timeline animation,
and basic web portfolio creation as they relate to students of diverse
experiences with a focus in the various digital media industries.
Requirements:

Terminal degree or its equivalent in broadcast design, motion graphics, visual
effects, or a related digital media field

Industry experience
- Superior-grade
reel with breakdown
- Knowledge of Maya or Maxon CINEMA 4D, web portfolio creation, and the Adobe
Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc.)
preferred
- Knowledge
in modeling, texture painting, rendering or lighting techniques preferred
- Familiarity
with 3-D environments and compositing preferred
- University-level teaching experience, specifically with online coursework
preferred
