Description
A Senior Lighting Artist (“Digital Artist”) is a key member of a Lighting Team. As a senior member of the team, this Digital Artist is expected to light and composite shots with minimum guidance at a consistent level of excellence, and to deliver their shots within the deadlines established by the Department.
The Senior Lighter is expected to provide advice and mentoring to more junior members of the Lighting Team, and should be pro-active in solving problems and/or communicating the details of problems to the appropriate parties so they may be resolved efficiently.
The Senior Lighter will be expected to be able to fluently discuss technical and artistic issues pertaining to his/her shots, and to be able to address notes given on shots in review in a timely and professional manner.
A Senior Lighting Digital Artist's responsibilities include:
Creative:- Lighting, rendering and compositing of shots to a highly polished level in a way that maintains sequence continuity and enhances the dramatic intent of the sequence lighting scheme.
- Analysis of key lighting set-ups received from Team Leads and the application of techniques and principles established within the key lighting set-ups to his/her own shots.
- From time to time (as determined by the Team Lead in consultation with the Lighting/FX Dept Supervisor), to key light certain shots or sequences, mainly smaller sequences or unique shots, and to guide other team members whose shots depend on the set-ups of these key lighting shots.
Technical:- In-depth reporting of technical problems to the relevant parties, testing of solutions and provision of feedback about the efficacy of solutions.
- Provide support to the Team Leads, for example assisting in the dissemination of information about key lighting set-ups.
- Provide assistance and/or mentoring to more junior Lighting Team members

Salary for this full time position starts from $100,000 depending on experience.
