Modeling/Stereoscopic Artist

Description

Position Description and Responsibilities:

• To explore and present the visual direction for characters/environments/sets/props as a means to provide the roadmap for the modeling, rigging, and surfacing teamsduring visual development, pre-production, and production, especially during stereoscopic development,while meeting the highest of quality, aesthetically and technically;
• To assist with visual exploration and/or research of stereoscopic design as required by production or the studio;
• To partner with Art Director (CG Supervisor and Technical Team) to help ensure aethetic goals are met in the most efficient manner;
• To work collaboratively with other departments to support their needs as determined by the Art Director or Creative Director or Production Designerto meet the best stereoscopic design output;
• To ensure file management and archiving of stereoscopic art work is maintained throughout the course of production;
• To maintain awareness of the broader show needs as they relate to aspects ofstereoscopicart and design and related revisions;
• To assist in the creation of visual direction for characters/environments/props for use by stereoscopicasset department within the pipeline;

• To gather suitable reference material from various sources;
• To produce concept art, schematics, layouts, as well as clean orthographics (if required);
• To revise work per Art Director’s feedback;
• Provide creative input where appropriate;
• To work in adherence to budget and schedule constraints while maintaining the show’s overall look and mood ;
• To troubleshoot creative and technical issues as they arise as requested by Art Director.
