Hair & Fur TD

The position of Hair&Fur TD requires someone with a thorough knowledge of fur and hair software workflows, with several years of experience working on broadcast or film projects.

They role will involve developing the Project’s Hair & fur Pipeline.

Primary responsibilities

• Design and implement best possible design solutions for the Fur/Hair pipeline.
• Provide leadership and support for the in-house and external groomer teams, both creatively and technically, to facilitate the completion of fur assignments on schedule.
• Work together with the Projects leads, and Pipeline to ensure the Fur workflow is reliable, and stable
• Provide Regular updates to production manager and 3d supervisor on any technical/workflow bottlenecks within the fur schedule
• Define, document and communicate standards and techniques for fur/hair development that maximizes efficiency and ensures a consistent quality under the technical specifications of the project.
• Collaborate with the 3D & Lighting Supervisor to make requests for studio pipeline tool enhancements.

Professional Requirements:

• Proficient in Maya
• 4 + years professional experience working Shave & Haircut or Yeti,
• Experience as groomer
• Excellent troubleshooting skills on Maya and Shave/Yeti
• Experience with Mel or Python is considered a big plus
• Technical supervision of a team of artist is considered a plus
• The applicant is not expected to Look Dev the hair but experience in this area would be considered a plus.

• Must be able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks in a fast paced production environment.
• Demonstrate artistic eye for styling and grooming
• Must be open to direction.
