LAMP/Python Developer

Description

Blur Studio is seeking a media savvy Python Generalist / Web Developer to work on creating scripts and configuring servers to support studio infrastructure, improve overall communication between departments and develop a web-based user interface for our internal database. Required skills include web development and strong Python scripting abilities. Web2py and PostgreSQL preferred. Linux familiarity and experience with Redmine are pluses.

Responsibilities Include:

• Participating in a team-oriented environment to develop new web-based applications
• Maintaining existing code base, including troubleshooting bugs and adding new features
• Balancing a variety of concurrent projects while meeting deadlines
• Demonstrating attention to detail while implementing technical specifications

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

• Ability to define and communicate a technical vision, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detailed knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and application design and the ability to apply them to Python or PHP projects
• Experience working with MVC web frameworks (Web2py preferred)
• Experience with version control systems (GIT preferred)
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design and optimization
• Solid experience using Linux / Bash scripting
• Able to write valid, semantic HTML / CSS
• Willingness to learn new skills, frameworks, and programming languages as necessary
• Technical problem-solving skills, ability to succeed in a fast-moving high-demand environment, and a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” when necessary

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent in experience
