About the Position

We’re currently looking for a Character Design Supervisor to join us on an exciting new animated feature film! You’ll be responsible for ensuring the technical and creative success of the character models for a feature film. An in-depth understanding of character design in Photoshop and 2D animation production is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of character designers in breaking down the character models for production
• Ensure the character models keep in quality and style of the feature film
• Assign and review tasks, ensuring revisions are completed as needed
• Ensure the team is meeting assigned weekly quotas and expectations
• Work closely with the Art Director and Coordinator and flag any issues you might see that would concern the production schedule

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in production character design
• Previous experience in a supervisory position is a definite asset
• Strong drawing skills and an understanding of character structure
• Comprehension and knowledge of Photoshop
• Knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony a plus
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet individual and team deadlines
• Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
• Comfortable working with colour theory
