About the Position

We’re looking for a multi-talented Studio Production Assistant who is well-organized, adaptable, solution-oriented, and thrives in a creative environment. Jumping in wherever needed, this is a great opportunity to learn about animation production and gain experience in the industry. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to take initiative will be important as you assist our Studio Manager with a variety of tasks that help make DHX a great place to work, and take on overflow from both Corporate and Production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general upkeep of the studio, cleanliness, replenishing of supplies
  • Run errands for the office – pick up lunches, drop off Fed Ex packages, pick up supplies, etc.
  • Coordinate meals for meetings and studio events
  • Assist in the coordination of crew events/parties
  • Reception relief (phones)
  • Perform maintenance tasks as needed, such as setting up and moving workstations, cleaning desks, replacing light bulbs, coordinating junk removal
  • Administrative tasks: fax, scan and photocopy
  • Distribute packages/mail/documents to appropriate departments
  • Assist the Accounting department with cheque mail-outs and distributing documents to other departments/crew
  • Assist the management team with administrative tasks and other duties as they arise
  • Drive clients or crew to other locations/studios

Qualifications 

  • Previous work experience in an office setting or in customer service
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and clean driving record
  • Able to lift 50 lbs or more
  • Flexible to work outside regular office hours occasionally – for specific studio needs/events, when necessary
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Outgoing and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Fluent in MS Word, Outlook and Excel (knowledge of Illustrator and/or Photoshop is a definite asset)
  • Creative, with the ability to adapt to multiple demands and problem-solve
  • Self-motivated, eager to take on any task
  • Discretion in handling confidential matters and employee information
  • Experience in the film, television or animation industry an asset but not required
