Director, Manufacturing - Consumer Products
Description
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a director to lead and inspire the manufacturing team in creating epic product experiences for our players. The ideal candidate has manufacturing and sourcing experience, consumer products experience, excellent organizational and time-management skills, a strong sense of commitment to and personal ownership of the responsibilities assigned to them, and ability to collaborate creatively and strategically. This position will report to the VP of global consumer products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy
- Define and execute manufacturing strategy to deliver quality products against the department’s product and distribution requirements.
- Identify global opportunities to expand the vendor matrix into new product categories and innovation in product development.
- Manufacturing
- Serve as the lead for strategic partnerships and relationships between Blizzard and all its potential and existing vendors.
- Oversee manufacturing process from idea inception to delivery including creative brief process, vendor selection, testing, regulatory / compliance requirements, quality assurance, production sample approvals, production batch approvals, shipping and logistics, and achieving cost targets.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for product delivery against all channels of distribution.
- Develop and enhance network and sourcing relationships to increase profit margin, support new product concepts, improve lead times, and introduce product innovations.
- Partner with category and distribution managers to analyze product performance to identify gaps for growth opportunities and / or product retirement.
- Build processes to manage the product manufacturing and delivery schedule, ensuring all milestones on each project’s critical path are met within the desired timeline in order to deliver product against required dates.
- Negotiate price quotes and approve manufacturing services agreements.
- Management
- Manage and mentor manufacturing team.
- Collaborate with regional Blizzard offices to ensure global sourcing efficiencies, quality assurance, and overall support for product development.
- Other
- Communicate status updates with VP on a weekly basis.
- Assist VP with special events / projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 12years’ experience in consumer products manufacturing
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in management
- Passion for playing computer games
- Able to work and thrive in a globally oriented environment
- Able to work well in a team environment with various internal organizations
- Able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
- Strong communications and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Intelligence, confidence, discretion, humility, and intellectual curiosity
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
