Associate Events Manager, Consumer Products
Description
The associate events manager supports the consumer products department with event planning and logistics. These event responsibilities are primarily focused on creating industry leading merchandise sales experiences at pop-culture and Blizzard-run events, but also cover industry trade shows and consumer product launches. The ideal candidate has proven experience in delivering world class retail, trade show, and event experiences, possesses excellent organizational and time-management skills, and has a strong sense of commitment to, and personal ownership of, the responsibilities assigned to them. This position reports to the event manager in Irvine.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Event planning and execution
- Plan for and help manage the physical retail presences at events.
- Develop event plans for select events, including but not limited to the following:
- Product offering
- Sales forecasts
- Event budgets
- Inventory management plans
- Staffing schedules
- Travel plans
- Set up / tear down
- Freight forwarding, customs / duties, and drayage
- Point of sale and cash handling
- Promotional activities
- Support on-site execution of all aspects for events, including management of staff, vendors, and convention center staff, as well as troubleshooting any and all issues that may arise to provide a quality consumer experience.
- Manage third party vendors by issuing RFPs, negotiating rates, routing related contracts, and managing invoices.

- Communicate status updates with event manager on a weekly basis.
- Assist event manager team with special events and additional projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS- A minimum of 5 years’ of event management, and / or retail experience
- Able to work and thrive in a globally oriented environment
- Able to effectively manage third party vendors and promotional partners
- Experience with a variety of point of sales systems
- Able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
- Excellent communications and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Passion for playing computer games
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
PLUSES- Experience in the games industry
